Social Entrepreneurship is a concept that has gained momentum during the past years. Bill Clinton calls it the next ‘big thing’. Business and social experts claim that future world change depends on social entrepreneurs. In a nutshell, it is a process that applies innovative solutions and business strategies to the world’s most pressing social problems.
In the past, only the public, private and social sectors have been involved in solving social problems. Recently, more celebrities like Bono (U2) has come on board. Now, attention is on online communities.
In this momentous event, organized by FreSh!, an online community; we invite speakers from all of those sectors to present how they are using innovative ideas to solve Indonesia’s social and healthcare problems. More than that, we will explore how online communities can play a significant role in becoming social entrepreneurs. Speakers for that night include:
- Pandji (DJ, Celebrity and ACER‘s partner in the C3 movement)
- Liem AyLing (Chief of Private Sector FR, UNICEF)
- Dita (Top Blogger, Microsoft)
- Grace Sai (Founder & CEO, Books for Hope)
- Olga Lydia (Model, TV Host, Books for Hope’s Ambassador for Reading)
Other highlights include:
- Launch of “Bringing ICT into Villages” partnership between ACER-Microsoft and Books for Hope in our joint project to bring computer literacy to children and teachers in villages.

This program is a form of social care in the education of children, the ability to get under the ICT facilities, and this program can help to give children the opportunity to try ICT.
I was a computer teacher for the elementary school, I felt the limitations of equipment and also the resources of science, perhaps this program can solve the problem.
